Making a great steak is easy and this recipe for filet mignon makes a great treat for fathers day or any day.
Start either your gas or charcoal grill. If using gas, light the grill and let it heat for about 10 minutes. If using charcoal, light the coals and let them burn down till they are just turned white.
While your grill is heating up, remove the steaks from the refrigerator and rub or shake your favorite seasoning on both sides. Let the steak set out of the refrigerator until the grill is ready, usually about 10 to 20 minutes.
For a medium rare, one inch thick steak, grill on each side for about 7 minutes.
Remove from grill and let rest at least 5 minutes.
Serve with grilled vegetables and baked potato.
