Compound Butter For Steak

A compound butter for steak is a delicious way to take your steak over the top. The first time I added butter to steak, it was just plain old butter. Then the thought occurred to me that this would be better with a compound butter.

What is Compound Butter

All compound butter is a cube of butter mixed with an assortment of herbs and spices and rolled back into a cube form for later use. It’s great on steak, bread, potatoes or anything you might use butter for.

Compound Butter How To Make It

As I said before, you just mix in a bunch of herbs and spices to make a compound butter. Be aware, however, that you can overdo it with the herbs and spices and make the butter overwhelming. So find a happy medium for your compound butter. I like mine with a tone of garlic so this recipe reflects that. I also sometimes leave out the Rosemary because my partner hates it.
