What is Compound Butter
All compound butter is a cube of butter mixed with an assortment of herbs and spices and rolled back into a cube form for later use. It’s great on steak, bread, potatoes or anything you might use butter for.
Compound Butter How To Make It
As I said before, you just mix in a bunch of herbs and spices to make a compound butter. Be aware, however, that you can overdo it with the herbs and spices and make the butter overwhelming. So find a happy medium for your compound butter. I like mine with a tone of garlic so this recipe reflects that. I also sometimes leave out the Rosemary because my partner hates it.

Ingredients
- 1/2 c butter
- 1 tsp fresh chopped parsley
- 1 tsp fresh chopped rosemary
- 1 tsp fresh chopped basil
- 1 tsp coarse kosher salt
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp fresh minced garlic
Instructions

Add butter to a mixing bowl.
